DayZ Standalone Pre-Alpha Gameplay Footage November 15 2013

DayZ Standalone Pre Alpha Gameplay

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]inally Dean “Rocket” Hall has appeased the fan mass with a new DayZ Standalone pre-alpha gameplay video and it’s looking pretty sweet!  I’ve played other Alpha games that didn’t look 1/2 as good or playable than this so I’m hoping the wait isn’t too much longer. [youtube id=”2aRJhG2TwR0″ width=”633″ height=”356″] A few things you’ll notice in the gameplay video are: The new lighting looks awesome. New hatchet animations are equally awesome. The new compass is way more realistic. The sun was low on the horizon and it appeared to be cold out. You could see your characters breath (like I said… cold). The game graphics look beautiful. Are you excited for DayZ Standalone Alpha?  We’re pumped and will likely get a server going as soon…

3 PC Games You Absolutely Must Play in 3D

Top Pick 3D PC Games.

So I got started into 3D PC Gaming this year when my old 27″ I-Inc monitor finally crapped out on me.  I’d thought about setting up a 3D rig before but never had the desire to upgrade until I had to.  After some research I ended up buying a Samsung SA950D 27″ 3D monitor.  At the same time I upgraded my graphics card to an HD 7970 by Gigabyte. I certainly didn’t have to choose AMD but the monitor was built to work specifically with Tri-Def and AMD HD3D compatible video cards so it’s the route I went. Since setting up my 3D rig I’ve put in a few hundred hours re-playing many of my old games to experience them in 3D and a few…

Surviving The Apocalypse in Project Zomboid – 6 Tips.

Survival Tips for Project Zomboid

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]f you’ve just started playing Project Zomboid or you’re already a hardened veteran we can probably agree on one thing… This game is fucking hard!  The zombies are hardcore, very sensitive to noise and movement and once they get ahold of you the horde grows quickly and you’re done. As of this writing the longest I’ve survived now has been 1 day, though every play seems to be getting progressively longer save a random crash to desktop (it’s alpha remember!) or being mauled by the horde which is almost unavoidable, so far.  So consider the source of these tips, lol.  If your skill level is beyond what I preach here then don’t hate please help us out in the comments section with some your tried…

Should You Start Your Own DayZ Server?

Should I Run Your Own DayZ Server

[dropcap]D[/dropcap]ayZ is an awesome and addicting game I’m sure most avid players would agree.  For some DayZ players looking to get deeper into the game the logical next step of DayZ fandom is to try and start a clan and get their own server running.  This is awesome, we all need great servers to play on but unfortunately not everyone is cut out to be a DayZ server admin.  If you’ve played the game for any amount of time you’d probably agree. Running your own DayZ isn’t glamorous, in fact it can sometimes be a full time job.  I ran my own DayZ server last year for about 6 months (It was called “The Survivor Clan”).  My younger son wanted to play DayZ and at…

Have You Checked Out Arma 3 Yet?

Have You Played Arma 3 Yet?

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]f you’re looking for one of those “must have” gaming titles of the year then Arma 3 needs a serious look.  Well known for it’s modding support and very active modding community Arma II has been a staple for thousands of gamers over the last few years.  Arma II exploded when the DayZ mod burst onto the scene and it helped prop up Arma 2 as one of Steams best sellers for many months.  It was through DayZ I discovered the Arma series and it’s provided hundreds of hours of gaming entertainment ever since.  Arma 3 expands upon that success with improved graphics, improved gameplay and so many more features to list here. When the Arma 3 early access alpha came out many months ago…

[youtube id=”EF-vlLCv4vg” width=”633″ height=”356″]   Hangers, Dekes,  and Spinners oh my! This is why I keep coming back to this game. Beyond the fact that it is a high pace game, you can create new plays and ways to score with an almost infinite amount of variety.

Project Zomboid Early Access First Impressions

Project Zomboid Early Access First Impressions.

The longest I’ve managed to survive so far has been 15 hours in-game time. [dropcap]P[/dropcap]roject Zomboid is currently an Early Access game available on Steam.  I bought the game on Rocket2Guns (Dean Halls) recommendation as a bit of a tide over until the DayZ standalone alpher release.  And I am glad I did because it’s turning out to be a great Zombie Survival simulator. When you first start out you’ll find yourself having to select a game mode. Project Zomboid has the following game modes. Survival Mode:  You’ll die often, it’s extremely hard to survive and the way the devs wanted it. Sandbox Mode: Survival mode but you have some customization options to change the gameplay. Last Stand Mode:  You are dropped into a house with…

Project Zomboid Early Access Introduction

Project Zomboid PC Zombie Survival Game

[youtube id=”YhSd39QqQUg” width=”633″ height=”356″] They Did a Great Job With This Trailer! [dropcap]T[/dropcap]his was the year I was finally bitten by the Zombie Survival game bug.  It started from an IGN article discussing DayZ and how it was a game everyone should try once.  So I did and immediately fell in love with the game play. Since then like many of you, I’ve been voraciously seeking out, researching and buying up Zombie Survival games of all types looking for that ultimate Zombie Survival gaming experience. Fast foward a few days ago to one of my daily visits to the DayZ reddit I noticed a post by Dean Hall (Rocket2Guns) here.  For those of you unfamiliar with Dean he is the creator of the DayZ mod…
